About The Writing Owl
The Writing Owl was created with the desire to bring queer authors and stories closer to readers at a time when it may seem impossible to get our hands and eyes on them. While the end goal is to open a physical bookstore to bring our readers together, for now we offer a digital version of that to provide a safe haven for queer readers.
With our “Blind Date With a Queer Book” box sets, we seek to bring comfort to all kinds of readers while simultaneously opening your eyes to authors you may have never read before.
The ultimate goal is to become your go-to store for all your queer reading needs.
The Writing Owl was founded by Lara. Lara has a BA in Literature, works in Public Relations, freelances as a TV and film critic, and spends her free time reading queer stories.
As a solo queer mom by choice, Lara wants to help create a world in which her child can grow up to be whoever they want and love whoever they want. By starting this digital (for now) bookstore, she hopes to build a safe haven in the chaos of the world for queer people and their stories.
